Funny Advertisements From Newspapers

advertisements-from-newspapers-12

I lament the fact that newspapers are on a crash course with extinction. Without the immediacy of the Internet, the disregard for ethics and proper reporting of the blogs, or the classifieds — and clones — of Craigslist, the print media simply isn’t viable in the modern world. Here are a few interesting advertisements from newspapers from different people and their wishes.

Epic-by-Christian-Stoll-1

Photographer Christian Stoll has a knack for finding futurism in the modern world. From the cities of the world and the ships that traverse them, Stoll uses daring perspectives to capture today’s techno culture in motion. 22 Spooky and Creepy Black and White Photos

22-spooky-photos-21

Black and white photography has always had an appeal and is often referred to as more artsy. I don’t know why, maybe the lack of color and increased attention to contrast makes black and white photos more broadly appealing, but this set of 22 are just plain spooky.

Outstanding Street Art

thumbnail

Street art is any art developed in public spaces — that is, “in the streets” — though the term usually refers to unsanctioned art, as opposed to government sponsored initiatives. The term can include traditional graffiti artwork, stencil graffiti, sticker art, wheatpasting and street poster art, video projection, art intervention, guerrilla art, flash mobbing and street installations. Typically, the term street art or the more specific post-graffiti is used to distinguish contemporary public-space artwork from territorial graffiti, vandalism, and corporate art. We found examples of that initiative which are really outstanding street art.

Oldest ancient teeth found in Israeli cave

The teeth, discovered in a cave near Rosh Haayin, east of Tel Aviv, have been estimated to be about 400,000 years old. If the initial findings are confirmed, it would overturn accepted scientific theory that Homo sapiens, the direct descendent of modern man, evolved in Africa about 200,000 years ago and migrated north.

The find, discovered by a team of international archeologists under the auspices of Tel Aviv University, was announced Monday.
