An amazing house that is entirely upside-down opened its doors to the public on the northern German island of Usedom this week. The family-sized house, designed Polish partners Klausdiusz Golos and Sebastian Mikiciuk for the Edutainment exhibition company, is furnished with chairs, tables and carpets stuck to the ceiling.

Fear of heights? This is definitely no place for you! 
Skywalk commonly known as The Glass Bridge is one of the aspiring civil engineering project which shows the unmatched thinking of civil engineers. The construction of this glass bridge started in March 2004. Glass Bridge will be suspended 4,000 feet above the Colorado River on the very edge of the Grand Canyon. In 2005, it was tested for its structural ability and the results were really very good. It passed all its engineering requirements by 400 percent and therefore the total load which this glass bridge is able to withstand is equal to the weight of 71 fully loaded Boeing 747 airplanes which is more that 71 million pounds. The bridge will be able to sustain winds in excess of 100 miles per hour from 8 different directions, as well as an 8.0 magnitude earthquake within 50 miles. It is said that more than one million pounds of steel was used in the construction of the Grand Canyon sky walk. Amazing!

Ron Mueck art is about love, loneliness, family, relationships. It can be understood by anyone. It has nothing to do with what’s in vogue in metropolitan London (which makes it great for Edinburgh). And although Mueck’s technique is of our time:
- he trained in puppetry, including at Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, and has taken the lifelike modeling techniques used in cinema to the gallery
- only the most hidebound snob could fail to recognize that he is using models to achieve what sculptors of the past set out to do: to animate and dramatize the beauty and pity of what William Blake called “the human form divine”.
Be startled, amazed, awed, moved or just plain gob-smacked. This is an extra-ordinary exhibition!

Nature is a superb way of finding natural and unique inspiration. It refreshes our mind and gives us something to think about in new and exciting ways. I’m a huge fan of character illustration, especially monsters and aliens. When searching for inspiration for these illustrations, I find taking a good look at the world beneath us, the sea-bed of the ocean always points me in the right direction. The bright colors, unusual but natural shapes and the detail in the photos below will hopefully inspire you as well…

As it hit the newsstands in Milan two weeks ago, the September issue of Vogue Italia had a cover that looked a little different. Why? Because it was shot in Vogue’s newest photography frontier, 3D. Enclosed with the Italian issue was a special pair of 3D vision glasses. Although I’m sharing the cover, the whole editorial and the backstage video of the shoot here with you, you’ll need to wear the 3D glasses to see the cover and the editorial the way it was truly meant to be seen. Besides, who doesn’t want to see Miranda Kerr’s natural assets in three dimensions?
Shot by photography master Steven Meisel, the September issue features 22 pages of the attractive Australian model (and the newly pregnant wife of Orlando Bloom) Miranda Kerr. Thanks to the possibility of seeing in three dimensions, Vogue images will acquire a totally new power, crossing the borders of fashion photo shoots, to strengthen even more the very high quality pictures, which have always been the trademark of the magazine.
